Terms of Service
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and [[COMPANY LEGAL NAME]] (org.nr [[ORG NUMBER]], [[POSTAL ADDRESS]], Norway — "we") and govern your Better Recipes account and the connected services: sync, discovery, search, and sharing. The app binary itself is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. You must be at least 13 to use the service.
2. Your account
Sign-in is provided through Auth0. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current.
3. Your recipes stay yours
You own the recipes, photos, and other content you create. So that we can run the service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for display and formatting), publish, and distribute the content you make public — for example in Discovery, in search results, and on recipe share pages — including in connection with service features that may be supported by advertising or otherwise monetised. Content you keep private, including drafts, is processed only to provide the service to you (for example sync and backup). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for short-lived backup copies. You promise you have the rights to what you post.
4. House rules
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Do not post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, pornographic, gratuitously violent, or dangerous — including deliberately unsafe food instructions. Do not impersonate others, spam, upload malware, scrape the service, interfere with its operation, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
5. Reporting and moderation
You can report a recipe or block its author directly in the app, or email us. We aim to review reports within 24 hours, and we may remove content or restrict or terminate accounts that break these terms.
6. Recipes come from other cooks
Recipes on Better Recipes are provided by their authors. We do not verify their accuracy, completeness, or safety — including ingredients, allergens, nutrition, or cooking times and temperatures. Always check ingredients and allergens against the products you actually use, and follow safe food-handling practices. You cook at your own responsibility.
7. The service
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". Features may change or be discontinued, and we may suspend the service for maintenance or security. Content stored on your device stays available offline; connected features need a network.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by Norwegian law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim (the app is currently free). Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or the rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
9. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Security. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this address. If a change is material, the app will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using the service.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes belong to the ordinary Norwegian courts. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence are unaffected.
